An experience…

Years ago, guilt would have consumed me before I left the store.

I would have panicked at the price tag and easily talked myself out of it.

But I’ve wanted a Stetson for years.

This weekend while I was in San Antonio for a conference, I found the perfect little place to purchase my Stetson.

Unbeknownst to me this little “hole in the wall” is actually quite famous. Paris Hatters has served people  like Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard, BB King, Johnny Cash, and many more over the years.

As I walked, I was immediately greeted and provided white glove service. The perfect hat was found, tried on, and accessorized.

There was ease, joy, and excitement as my friends helped me and joined in the experience.

I wore the hat out, because why not, and as I paid, there was no twinge of guilt, no worry about the cost, it was complete joy.

The experience was amazing because I’ve done the work on myself to allow such experiences to be nothing but amazing. It hasn’t always been easy but the investment in myself has been completely worth it.
