I use timers every day.

I use timers every day.

As a business owner, it’s easy to get caught up in doing all the things and spending an entire day doing “dumb” stuff.

Instead, I used timers.

While, I’m really good at my time management, I can get sucked into doing “dumb” stuff for way too long but setting a timer and go in myself 20-60 minutes for tasks, allows me to make progress while still leaving plenty of time for the business tasks I enjoy.

For instance, when I first started my business, I believed I had to have a website, but hated the process of building a website, so I built it in 20 minute increments over a few weeks. (Mind you I was too embarrassed by it to actually send people to it, but I now know how to build/manage one, which has served over the various website iterations).

Focus more of your time and energy on the stuff you love in your business will ALWAYS serve you, but you have to make time for it, especially when you’re trying to do all the things.

I teach my clients how to do this in my “Love, Like, Hate/Delegate” exercise. (Check out Season 3, Episode 75 of “Cutting through the Bullsh*t” Podcast for specifics. Or comment below and I’ll share the link.)

Because the truth is doing more of what you love, will grow your business.
