I was passively trying to create the life I wanted…
I was passively trying to create the life I wanted.
And it's no surprise it didn't work.
In order to create the life I want, it requires daily action. And that can look like a number of things depending on what I am currently focused on, but I do know that the lack of focus will lead to no long term result.
Imagine with me, you have a free Saturday and you decide to clean the house. With focus action this could take you maybe 2-3 hours depending on different factors.
But working on this passively...
You'll start in the kitchen washing dishes and then be interrupted by the dryer buzzing. Then once the laundry of laundry is folded you're in your son's room deciding to organize his closet. Then you find golf gear and now you're in the garage. Before you know it, you've spent 5 hours working on the house and have not finished one single task.
Sound familiar?
Now there is nothing wrong with this at all, this is what some people will choose. And I will admit that I have days like this too.
But most days, I want to get my "work" done efficiently, so I can have time to do more things that I enjoy and this requires having a vision for the day.
As Will Smith says in Hitch, "Begin each day as if it were on purpose."
