"I would love to do x, y, or z, but I just can't afford to."
"I would love to do x, y, or z, but I just can't afford to."
Please know I love you when I say this...
How long are you going to continue disempowering yourself and treating money like it's this thing you never have enough of??
Yes, there are seasons in everyone's life when money is tight, but if you continue to talk about money like it's something you never have- guess what you'll never have enough of it.
But if you talk about money like it's something you decide to do things with regularly then how money shows up in your life and how you deal with money becomes exciting and fun (it can sound complicated so I'm keeping it as simple as possible).
Instead of saying "I can't afford to" or "That's too expensive" or "We never have enough" say something like "It's not a priority right now" or "Let's make a plan on when to buy the thing"
My husband and I started doing this last year and it's been amazing to feel so much power around money. We no longer talk about things like we can't afford it, but rather we prioritize our money on things we are excited about. And yes, even paying the electric bill is exciting because I like having a warm home!!
So, quit making money a bad guy and start appreciating it for all it helps you do!!
Love ya,
Stephanie
